Kevin Fiur is an expert at identifying, developing and launching new businesses and turning around distressed companies. He has a long track record of success in a variety of markets and business endeavors, including energy services, intellectual property monetization, technology commercialization, litigation finance, litigation and alternative dispute resolution. In addition, Mr. Fiur has a well developed business network throughout Asia and over a decade of experience doing deals in Korea and other foreign countries.
Mr. Fiur started his professional career as a litigator with Baker Botts LLP, where he gained recognition as a top strategist and negotiator. After leaving Baker Botts, Kevin started his IP practice in California, where he was an associate at a leading entertainment law firm and counseled various movie studios and music companies on licensing and other IP related matters, while at the same time handling copyright and trademark infringement litigation. Later in his career, Mr. Fiur was the General Counsel and then turnaround CEO of an NYSE company.
Mr. Fiur has been a successful entrepreneur for the past decade. He recently agreed to sell 35% of Innovestion LLC, a company he founded, to a venture fund, and will continue to manage Innovestion's operations in the IP market. His prior company, IP Tactics, was effectively rolled into ICAP in 2009, with his entire management team moving to ICAP in similar positions to jumpstart and build ICAP’s global IP trading business. Mr.Fiur recently launched a new fund, Claims Capital, which will deploy capital to assist uninsured victims requiring complex medical care.
Kevin’s education includes a B.A. degree in the Plan II Honors Program from the University of Texas at Austin, a J.D. (Order of the Coif) from the University of Texas School Of Law, and an MBA from the Acton School of Business in Austin.
